Pathar ko bhi pani kar de hum
woh jaan rakhte hai,
anjaan ko bhi apna bana le hum
woh pehchaan rakhte hai.

Fitrat me nahi Humare,
Mohabbat me aason Bahana,
Bewafaiko unki apni yadon me dohrana,
Do boond Sharab ki,
Bhuladeti hai sare gam,
Aur,Phir kisi nayi mehbooba ki talash me
Nikal padte hai Hum !!

Insaan jab is jahan mein aya uske pass gam tha
Aur jab is jahan se gaya tau uske pass gam tha
Khushi usne jis lamhe ko samajha, e yarab
Dar-asal tab uske gam ka ehsas kam tha

Har Dil Ki Tarah Mere Bhi Dil Ka, Anjaam Abhi Baaki
Hai,
ThoDi Khushee Abhi Baaki Hai Isame, ThoDi Jaan Abhi
Baaki Hai.

HUM NE TO MUHOBBAT MEIN APNE WAJOOD KE DO TUKDE KIYE;
EK KO KHUD SE JUDA PAYA;
EK PE TERA NAAM KHUDA PAYA .

Suna hai waqt ke saath halat badal jate hain
Insan badal jate hain, jazbat badal jate hain
Par tum na badloge, ye aitbar karta hoon
Main tumse pyaar karta hoon

Kai din guzre, tumse bichde
Kai pal beete, kai yug beete
Kai baar sambhala, khud ko sanam
Par thak hi gaye, jeete jeete
Khai thi kasam ki lad lenge
Duniya walon se, duniya se
Par hay jamana jeet gaya
na tum jeete, na hum jeete

darwaje se ana chahta tha,
tab dawaje band ho jate the.
ab jab darwazon ko tora maine,
sara ghar mere liye chhod jaten hai.
pahle bhi log mujhse katrate the,
abhi nafrat karte hain.
kabhi rooke bol bolte the,
ab dil mere tor jaate hain.

jeene ki aarzoo thi hamhari,
zindagi hamse mukh mod liya.
maut ka intazar kiya jab,
woh bhi hamhe tarapta chhod gaya.
na ab jeene ki chaah hai,
na kambakht maut aati hai.
zindagi ne to maut ke karib laya,
magar maut ne dil hamhara tod diya.

mere insaan hone ki gurur nahin hai mujhe
dusron ke jajbaat se aksar khelta raha hoon main
mujhse pyar paane ki arzoo nahin hai kishi ki
nafrat ke solon mein aksar jalta raha hoon main

safar zindagi ka manzil mein rukta nahin hai,
bas thikana badalta raheta hai.
sirf manzil mein hi to kushi milti hai,
safar mein gam ka saath bana raheta hai

kam hai ye zindagi khud ke liye,
dusron ke bare mein sochta kyun hai.
teri khud ki zindagi itni mushkil hai,
auron ke bare mein sochta kyun hai.
tere to apne tere saath hai,
kishi ko apni zindagi mein bulata kyun hai.
khud ke liye kuchh to bachakar rakh,
yun apni kimti ansoo bahata kyun hai.

ai bewafa tu mujhse itni bewafai kar
ki tere alawa mujhe koi bewafa na lage

ye mera dil is dil ki halat kaise bataun tumhe
ye dil ab dil na raha di ki awaz kaise sunaun tumhe
kishi ke mohabat main thukraya gaya hai ye
ye dil mein jo dard hai kaise dekhaun tumhe

Teri bewafa hone ka subhah tha mujhe,
Par behaya bhi hai ish-se hum anjaan the.
Teri bholi surat pe kai baar qurbaan huye hum,
Shayad dil masoom tha hum nadan the.

Kabhi ek bund ko bhi tarashta hai admi,
aur kabhi bundon mein garajta hai admi,
kuchh bhi mumkin hai ish zeevan mein,
kabhi kabhi bin bundon ke bhi jajta hai admi.
(Here BUND means MONEY)

Ai Khuda aisi khudai na de..
Apne siva koi dikhai na de..
Kuda mujhe aisi khudi na dena
Sada kashtiyon ki sunaai na de
Khuda aise ahsaas ka naam hai ki paas rahe aur dikhai

Usney maanga bhi agar kuch to maangi judaai,
Aur ek hum thay ke inkaar karna na aaya

Raat ki tanhai mein unko awaaz diya karte hain
Raat mein sitaaron se unka zikre kiya karte hain
Woh ayen ya na ayen humare khwabon mein
Hum toh bus unhi ka intezaar kiya karte hain

Judai ka pata hota agar pyaar se pehle,
To maut ki duva mangte hum deedar se pehle.

Hum Labon Se Keh Na Paaye
Unse Haal e Dil Kabhi
Aur Woh Samjhe Nahin Yeh
Khamoshi Kya Cheez Hai....

kisi ne sach kaha hai koi bura nahi hota
sirf waqt aacha ya bura hota hai
lekin ye kaisi insafi ke hame koi galat aurbura samaj
le
bina pesh karne ka mauka diye

hai kya kare hum jab hume sunne ki liye tak koi tayaar
nahi
hai waqt unko auroo ki liye, ye nachiz ko kaun jane,
aree jaan kar bhi anjan bane. Jab khade hai nawabzade
aur raiszade, unke samne hum kya hai ........
wah re uupar wale tera lakh lakh shukriya
ki tune mujhe kamse kam nafraat to diladi, shukriyaa

Misal deneme shayad ho gayee ho bhul
kaha janab ka chehra?? aur kaha gulab ka phool???

HUME TAU SIRF ARZ KARNE KA MAUUKA MILTA HAI
AAPNE SHIKAYAT KARNE KA HAQ TO KISI AUR KO DE RAAKHA
HAI

kisi bhi mausam ka asar abb humpe hota nahi,
yaro hum ne tau registan(desert) ki aadat dal rakhii
hai

Zindagi Hai...
Aur Dil-E-Nadan Hai.
Kya Safar Hai,
Aur Kya Saman Hai.
Hamare Gum Ko Samajke Dekhya,
Muskahara Dana Bada Aasan Hai.

DUNIA NE BESHUMAAR SHAKEEL KO DIYE HAIN RANJ
AY DOST TU BHI CHEEZ KOI BESHUMAAR DE

kal bhi intezaar tha un ka, aaj bhi hai
kal thi udaasi unhe paane ki, aaj unhe khokar udaas
hai..

Tumhari Mohabbaatne Hume,
Kya Kya Bana Diya...
Jab Kuch Na Ban Sake,
To Tamasha Bana Diya.

Deewar kya giri mere angan ki!!
deeewar kya giri mere angan ki!!!
logon ne ise aane jaane ka rasta bana liya

ajnabi jaanke guzare to koi baat nahi the,
log kyon jaan ke anjaan guzar jaate hain?

Kissi key ek aansoo per hazaroon dil taraptay hain
Aur kissi ka umar bhar ka rona be-kar jata hai

Kaise kah de kuda-aaphis ye dost
kuchh dhage dil ke tute nahi tutate

mudkar jara idhar bhi dekh zalim ki tammna hum bhi
rakhte hai
husn tere pas hai to kya hua, jigar hum bhi rakhte
hai.

Milte Hain Har Mod Pe Humdard Muzko Yahan
Lagta Hain Is Shaher Me Adakaar Bahut Hain

har gam khushi, har khushi gam hai...ishq main yaron jo ho so kam hai,...tumhari yaad ati hai tho aati rahe.....yeh shab bhi guzar denge itna tho dam hai........ jitni bhi pila de saaqiya kam hai,tu nahi janata kis qadar ktina gam hai......unki shiqayat pe unko khat bheja tho ab yeh shiqwa.....kahte hain ki bhigoya zyada likha kam hai...................aur......mausam ki pehli pehli baarish hai..dil main ek chhoti si khwahish hai.......woh bheeg liye mere
saath saath......aisa ho jaye tho unki nawazish hai..

some others thought ~~A SPECIAL LITTLE PRAYER~~

Every night I lie in bed
This little prayer inside my head

God bless my mom and dad
and bless my little child
and take care of my mate
they bring me so much joy . . .

And God there's just one more thing
I wish that you would do
if you don't mind me asking
to just bless my puter too?

Now I know that it's not normal
to bless a small machine
but listen just a second
and I'll try to explain . . .

You see, that little metal box
holds more than odds and ends
inside those small components
rest a hundred loving friends...

Some it's true I've never seen
and most I've never met
we've never shaken hands or
ever truly hugged, and yet . . .

I know for sure they love me
by the kindness they give
and this little scrap of metal
is how I get to where they live...

By faith is how I know them
much the same as I know you.
I share in what life brings them
so if it's ok with you . . .

Just take an extra minute
from your duties up above . . .
to bless this little hunk of steel
thats filled with so much love.

~~CUPID'S ARROW~~

Cupid's arrow struck my heart,
with you a never ending love I want to start.
Cupid's arrow struck me hard,
with my life your love I'll guard.
Cupid's arrow made me see,
what I feel for you is larger than the sea.
I love you with all my heart,
Cupid's arrow I thank for playing it's part.
====================================================
~DO NOT DOUBT HOW MUCH I LOVE YOU ~~

Do not doubt how much I love you
Though my time with you is thin.
I am always thinking of you,
Always loving you within.

A full-time working mom and wife
Just doesn't have much time to give.
But I have given you my life,
And you still reign where I most live.

I do the best that I can do
And hope that you will understand
That everything belongs to you:
My eyes, my thoughts, my heart, my hand, my Love.
====================================================
~~FARAWAY LOVE ~~

As I watch the rising sun it reminds me
that our love has to travel a long, long way,
I think of the end of the rainbow
we could reach someday.
Your smile whispers through my mind,
hoping that someday it will be our time.
As for now I can only dream of holding you tight.
Until then I must send you a kiss goodnight
====================================================
~~FRIENDS WITHOUT FACES~~

We sit and we type, and we stare at our screens
We all have to wonder, what this possibly means.

With our mouse we roam, through the rooms in a maze
Looking for something or someone, as we sit in a daze.

We chat with each other, we type all our woes
Small groups we do form, and gang up on our foes.

We wait for somebody, to type out our name
We want recognition, but it is always the same.

We give kisses and hugs, and sometimes flirt
In Palace we chat deeply, and reveal why we hurt.

We do form friendships - but - why we don't know
But some of these friendships, will flourish and grow.

Why is it on screen, we can be so bold
Telling our secrets, that have never been told.

Why is it we share, the thoughts in our mind
With those we can't see, as though we were blind.

The answer is simple, it is as clear as a bell.
We all have our problems, and need someone to tell.

We can't tell real people, but tell someone we must
So we turn to the 'puter, and to those we can trust.

Even though it is crazy, the truth still remains
They are Friends Without Faces, and odd little names.
====================================================
~~HEARTS & FLOWERS~~

A day for hearts and flowers
The time to say you care
A chance to tell your loved ones
You're glad that they are there.

But wonder why we wait
Until this certain day
To do those 'special' things
And say those things we say?

Why not tell mate or lover
Each day the whole year through,
'Valentine, I'm glad you're mine,
And I surely do love you.'
====================================================
~~MAY OUR FRIENDSHIP LAST FOREVER~~

May our friendship last forever;
May I sail upon your sea.
May we go through life together;
May there always be a 'we.'

May I be your endless sky;
May you breathe my gentle air.
May you never wonder why
Each time you look for me, I'm there.

May we be for each a smile
Like the warm, life-giving sun;
Yet when we're in pain awhile,
May our suffering be one.

May we share our special days,
The happiness of one for two;
And if we must go separate ways,
Let my love remain with you.
====================================================
~~SWEETHEART'S POEM~~

My love, you are a dream come true,
For without you I would be blue.
You have loved me more and more each day,
And always helping me to find my way.
You are so gentle and so dear,
That is why I want you near.
And though life has its ups and downs,
Let there never be any frowns.
For in my arms you find some rest,
For my darling you are the best.
====================================================
~~THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE EVER LOVED~~

This is the first time I have every loved;
Yours, the first face I cannot forget.
I think you are afraid, perhaps, and moved
To wonder whether you should do this yet.
I also am afraid, and yet I know
That wonder is a thing that needs a yes;
Shoud you step back and let this moment go,
Both you and I will have to live with less.
Please trust my love, as I must trust in yours.
It's strong as steel, as delicate as lace,
Immovable as battered granite shores:
I feel its power and unremitting grace.
So come, my love, and try this love with me;
Let your love speak, and then you will agree.
====================================================
~~VALENTINE POEM~~

Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
I hope you like me,
Cause I really like you.
And I have a feeling,
That's not of despair,
Cause I do believe
That you really care
And if you do like me,
I hope you are true,
For I do not want
This little heart blue ====================================================
~~WE MET UPON THE INTERNET~~

We met upon the Internet,
A friendship electronic,
Expressed alone in words and thoughts,
Inevitably platonic.

We live too far apart for us
To mingle in the flesh,
But much more close than family,
Our hearts and feelings mesh.

Your dear, dear self reveals itself
Without a voice or face.
We have our own sweet home within
Our precious cyberspace.
====================================================
~~YOU MEAN THE WORLD TO ME~~

In my heart I wonder
why it so often seems to be
I can never say the things
that really mean the most to me.
I wonder why it seems
that when I find the words at last,
The perfect time for saying them to you
has long since passed....

I wonder how to tell you
all you've brought into my life
The daily joy of having you beside me
I wonder-and I hope
that you can read my heart, my mind,
And see the love, the feelings,
for the words I cannot find.
====================================================
A friend
is one to whom one may pour
out all the contents of one's heart,
chaff and grain together
knowing that the gentlest of hands
will take and sift it.
Keep what is worth keeping,
and with a breath of kindness
blow the rest away.

Dark clouds, flashing lights, the cleansing waters Flow from your gentle soul. May your clouds be Glorious and filled with bright treasures, and may You know that the storm will pass, leaving you blanketed in joy.

Your Birthday isn't just a day
That comes and hurries by-
It's a time to think of things
We've shared-

It's a chance to say
You're in my thoughts
Very often all year through,
It's a time for me to say
How much I fondly think of you.

Dreaming Of You

There is a quiet place,
One that I love so.
A place of sweet solitude,
Oh how I wish to go.

If only in my dreams,
Or in a card or two.
The place where I can sit and think,
Such pleasant thoughts of you.

Footprint In The Sand
One night a man
had a dream.
He dreamt he was
walking with the Lord.
Across the sky
flashed scenes of his life.
For each scene,
he noticed two sets of
footprints in the sand;
one belonged to him,
and the other to the Lord.

When the last scene of
his life flashed before him,
he looked back at the
footprints in the sand.
He noticed that many times
along the path of his life there
was only one set of footprints.
He also noticed that it had
happened at the very lowest
and saddest times in his life.
This really bothered the man and
he questioned the Lord about it.

'Lord, you said that once I decided
to follow you, you'd walk with me all
the way. But I have noticed that during
the most troublesome times in my life,
there is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why, when I needed
you most, you would leave me.'

The Lord replied,
'My precious child, I love you
and I would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering,
when you see only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you.'
====================================================
Forever
As long as the sun does shine,
baby Together we'll walk through time,
As long as the wind does blow,
my darling ... Forever our love will grow.

No matter what bumps may block our way,
no matter the storms that appear to stay,
No matter the darkness that makes us blue,
Together My Love, with our Father,
we'll waltz right through.
I Love You Honey,
from the depths of this heart so true,
and as you are here for me,
know I am here for you,
regardless of life's sunshine
or rainy weather,
My Darling Forever...
we'll walk life's path together.

~~ Friendship Like Ours ~~
There's a rare kind of friend
Who knows just what to do
When to talk, when to listen,
How to be there for you.
A friend who inspires you
To grow in new ways,
A friend who'll be there
On both good and bad days.
There's a rare kind of friend
Who makes life worth living
By encouraging, praising,
sharing, and giving.
A friend who can see things
From your point of view,
The best kind of friend,
The rare kind... like you
====================================================
Friendship Rose
Just like a rose,
so precious and rare,
is the forever friendship
the two of us share.
Planted with kindness,
it's warmed by the sun
of caring and sharing,
laughter and fun.
It's grounded in trust
and nurtured by love,
with a sprinkling of grace
from God up above.
Tears of sadness and joy,
like dew, renew this friendship
I share with you.
And in the heart's garden,
we find the room to be ourselves,
to grow and bloom.
A blessing of beauty unsurpassed,
our friendship's a flower
that will always last.
====================================================
~~ God's Promise ~~
God didn't promise
days without pain,
laughter without sorrow
or sun without rain.
But God did promise
strength for the day,
comfort for the tears
and a light for the way,
And for all who believe
in His kingdom above,
He answers their faith
with everlasting love.
====================================================
GOOD FRIENDS

A good friend is someone
to do nothing much with
and find 'nothing much' so much fun.
A good friend is talking and talking
about everything under the sun.
A good friend is someone who really is glad
when you've worked for and won a success.
Someone you don't have to be on your guard with
or be what you aren't to impress.
A good friend is so many wonderful someones
all mixed in a marvelous blend
Of memory making, of giving and taking,
a 'now and forever' Good Friend.
====================================================
~~ Happy Birthday ~~
As you celebrate your birthday
I'll be sharing in it, too,
And thinking of you specially
As I so often do-
Wishing all the happiness
A time like this can bring,
And then a year that also holds
The best of everything!
====================================================
~~HEARTS & FLOWERS~~

A day for hearts and flowers
The time to say you care
A chance to tell your loved ones
You're glad that they are there.

But wonder why we wait
Until this certain day
To do those 'special' things
And say those things we say?

Why not tell mate or lover
Each day the whole year through,
'Valentine, I'm glad you're mine,
And I surely do love you.'

this is my heart
hope u r not feeling bore hahahahahahhaha ~~ 'Hello' ~~
'Hello' is such a little word,
But when it's sent your way
It says so many friendly things
That longer words can't say-
It says 'You're being thought about',
It says 'You're nice to know'-
Hope it adds a touch of joy-
This little word 'Hello.'
===================================================
~~I DIDN'T GET A CHANCE TO SAY I LOVE YOU ~~

I didn't get a chance to say I love you.
You were gone before we got that far.
All I know is now I really need you,
Yet when I look for you, you aren't there.

You said once that you never would forget me,
Yet how am I to know without you here?
Such emptiness! Like what I feel within me:
Neither flesh nor tears, just cold thin air.

Sometimes, alone, I feel your arms around me,
And all my need for you spills out in pain.
Jagged memories of you surround me.
I cannot think I won't see you again.
====================================================
I Saw This And I Thought Of You!

Sunset, water singing the lullaby of dusk. The sun, it's vibrant life, kissing day to restful sleep. Gentle breezes, surely whispering your name. Fill me with peace and joy.... as do thoughts of you.
====================================================
I wish you love, strength, faith, and wisdom,
Goods, gold enough to help some needy one.
I wish you songs, but also blessed silence,
And God's sweet peace when every day is done.
====================================================
I'LL ALWAYS LOVE YOU

As long as forever
I will stay by your side....
I'll be you companion,
Your friend, and your guide.

As long as I live
And as long as you care....
I'll do anything for you,
I'll go anywhere.

I'll bring you the sunshine,
I'll comfort your fears,
I'll gather up rainbows
To chase all your tears,
As long as forever,
My love will be true,
For as long as I live....
I'll love only you.
===================================================
I'm Blessed To Have You As My Friend

Joy is flowing,
From inside of me.
Cheer and good fortune,
Sent to you indeed.

Sharing in your happiness.
Sending hope anew.
Knowing that you understand,
How much I care for you
====================================================
Like a resplendent flower
Your beautiful spirit flows
To nourish all you touch with friendship
Thank you for the joy and
Peace that you share
====================================================
LOVE YOU

I love you
Not for what I want you to be
But for what you are
I loved you then
For what you were
For what you have become
===================================================
Love
I needed you
and found your arms around me,

Laughed with you
and seen clouds disappear,
Leaned on you
and felt your strength surround me,
Shared rough times with you
and felt no fear....
Believed in you
and seen my trust rewarded,
Dreamed with you
and seen my dreams come true...
Loved you
and seen every day grow sweeter...
Each day I've found more happiness with you.

Because of all the thoughts
and feelings
that only we can share,
because of all that you alone
bring to my world.
I know we have the kind of love
that really is unique...
and I know
that the most important person
in my life
is you.

All My Love
====================================================
May You Have A Wonderful Day

From the moment that you wake up
Til the setting of the sun
May today be a special day
Filled with excitement and with love
===================================================
~~ Missing You ~~
Whenever I miss you,
It always brings to mind
The thoughts and hopes we shared
And our many happy times.
And the quiet moments, too,
I think of all the things
So unique to me and you.
And though the many miles
Make it seem we're far apart
Warm memories like these
Keep you ever in my heart.
====================================================
Mother
A mother is someone wonderful,
She means more through the years.
She loves and shares
and always cares,
She comforts, helps, and cheers

Mother

A mother makes a difference
In so many lovely ways,
In the echo of her wise advice
And gentle words of praise,
In the sense of family closeness
And belonging that she gives,
In the beautiful example
Of the caring life she lives.

A mother makes a difference
In the way she loves us so ~
In ways that others see....
And ways that only we can know.

====================================================
My Special Friend
You are a special part
of all that I hold
dear to heart.
And when the days
and miles divide us,
our friendship still
lives on inside us.
The dreams we've shared,
the laughter, too...
I love the friend
I Found In You!
====================================================
My Special List

I have a list of folks I know...
all written in a book,
And every now and then..
I go and take a look.

That is when I realize
these names... they are a part,
not of the book they're written in...
but taken from the heart.

For each Name stands for someone...
who has crossed my path sometime,
and in that meeting they have become...
the reason and the rhyme.

Although it sounds fantastic...
for me to make this claim,
I really am composed...
of each remembered name.

Although you're not aware...
of any special link,
just knowing you, has shaped my life...
more than you could think.

So please don't think my greeting...
as just a mere routine,
your name was not...
forgotten in between.

For when I send a greeting...
that is addressed to you,
it is because you're on the list...
of folks I'm indebted to.

So whether I have known you...
for many days or few,
in some ways you have a part...
in shaping things I do.

I am but a total...
of many folks I've met,
you are a friend I would prefer...
never to forget.
Thank you for being my friend!
====================================================
You & I have found ~
The gift of a Lifetime
A love that will last eternally
Many have been in our lives
But no one has ever reached the depths of our love
The love of you & I

We were not seeking ~ and yet we found
Not needing ~ and yet we received
Different ~ and now one
My love reaches out to you
And your love to me!
====================================================
PROMISE
Let's promise each other
to always take Good care of our Love

Let's nurture it, honor it,
have happy little times with it,
teach it all there is to know about us,
and always keep it just as misty eyed,
gentle, laughing and sweet as it is right now
FOREVER

STAR WISH

Sometimes you wish upon a star
And hope that wish comes true
If I had one wish to wish
I'd wish for only you.,

i came across this beautiful article-poem n
would like to share it with u , plz do read it n
realise the importance of family values ...

this is an incident of a mother n a daughter
transformed into a poem . this was published in
readers digest n after having a sneak at it , i
thought of sharing it with u . here it is ......

I ran into a stranger as he passed by. 'Oh, excuse
me please' was my reply.
He said, 'Please excuse me too;wasn't even watching
for you.'
We were very polite, this stranger and I.
We went on our way and we said good-bye.
But at home a different story is told,
how we treat our loved ones, young and old.
Later that day, cooking the evening meal,
my daughter stood beside me very still.
When I turned, I nearly knocked her down.
'Move out of the way,' I said with a frown.
She walked away, her little heart broken.
I didn't realise how harshly I'd spoken.
While I lay awake in bed,
God's still small voice came to me and said,
'While dealing with a stranger, common courtesy you
use,
but the children you love, you seem to abuse.
Look on the kitchen floor, you'll find some flowers
there by the door.
Those are the flowers she brought for you.
She picked them herself, pink, yellow and blue.
She stood quietly not to spoil the surprise,
And you never saw the tears in her eyes.'
By this time, I felt very small
and now my tears began to fall.
I quietly went and knelt by her bed;
Wake up,little girl, wake up,' I said.
Are these the flowers you picked for me?'
She smiled, 'I found 'em,out by the tree.
I picked 'em because they're pretty like you.
I knew you'd like 'em, especially the blue.' I said,
Daughter, I'm sorry for the way I acted today;
I shouldn't have yelled at you that way.'
She said, 'Oh, Mom, that's okay. I love you anyway.'
I said, 'Daughter, I love you too,
and I do like the flowers, especially the blue.'

Are you aware that: If we die tomorrow, the company
that we are working for could easily replace us in a
matter of days. But the
family we left behind will feel the loss for the rest
of their lives. And come to think of it, we pour
ourselves more into work than to our family - an
unwise
investment indeed.

So what is behind the story?
You know what is the full word of family?
FAMILY = (F)ATHER (A)ND (M)OTHER, (I) (L)OVE (Y)OU !
It is worthwhile to share more time with them as they
are getting older.

If you feel this is very good message then only send
it your friends

bye frienz ..
respect n luv ur parents

Top 7 Techniques To Transform Negative Energy into Positive Energy:

1. Run 1 Mile in Somebody else's Shoes, then run another mile in your
own. Not only will you appreciate your shoes, you'll have endorphines
flowing through your veins to a level that will not permit hostility to
fester.
2. Give something away to someone you don't like. Their indebtedness to
you cures many angry woes.
3. Practice random acts of kindness, just to throw off your enemies.

4. Do NOT respond to negative energy with negative energy, because neg
+ neg = you both lose. Remember that people who are negative to you, are
only responding to how they feel inside, and you don't have to accept their
negative energy. Respond with love. Try it.
5. If you have negative energy, go take a hot bath or sauna, and let it
dissipate before you share it with others. No one really cares about
negative energy you might have, so why share it?
6. Get some exercise. Negative energy can creep up on you when your
life is out of balance, and getting physical is a super way to dissipate
the heat/negative emotions you might be having.
7. Raise your standards now. How can you be negative when you've
decided that is not how you want to live your life?

EDUCATION BEGINS AT HOME*

1. Just as dress does not make a gentleman, education does not
always
signify good character, though it can help a great deal if one chooses
to I
make use of it.

2. However, in spite of schooling and college education, it is not
uncommon to come across educated people who behave in an uneducated
manner.
In certain cases the education covers ground without cultivating
anything
in it.

3. Character speaks of good breeding and good breeding starts right
in
the home. The first human habits are formed in imitation of the
parents'
actions.

4. If the child is virtuous it rises in the first instance, from the
virtuous conduct of his father and his mother.

5. Good manners or bad, a sense of morality, the first glimmers of
culture come to the child either from the direct teaching of his
parents or
from the conduct, which the infant observes and imitates.

6. Hence the development of the right kind of habits in the child is
one
of the solemn duties of parenthood. The difficult child does not become
indifferent to parental authority overnight. This is the result of a
gradual process in which disobedience is allowed to go unheeded until a
vicious habit has been formed. Parents have a responsibility here that
cannot be shrugged off.

7. Yet, seldom we are conscious that: our children watch our
behavior
and imitate us.

8. "Chip of the old block", is an idiom, which means the child is
just
like the father. If the father is exemplary, the child will follow his
ex-
ample. He will be affected by his father's speech, his father's
mannerism,
even his father's walk. There is no more forceful way of, teaching than
by
example whether it is conscious or not.

9. Spoken words of the child come from the lips of the parents. If
the
parents realise the unexcelled opportunities that are theirs and really
try
to capitalise on, their children's youthful admiration, they can do
wonders
toward the developing of their children's ability. If their training
is:
poor and their language, conduct, habits far from worthy of imitation,
even
a long lifetime of later education and training may not undo the
neglect of
those first five years.

10. "Show to the child the way to go, "says the' Scripture, "and when
he
grows he will not depart from it." Abraham Lincoln one of the many out-
standing examples of the result of early training in the home, once
said, "
All that I am or hope to 'be, I owe to my mother".

11. Many parents feel that when they send their children to school
their
duty is done, their responsibility is over. They forget, however, that
education of the child begins at the mother's knee. The school cannot
remotely take the place of the home. Teachers cannot, except most
inadequately, take the place of the parents.

12. The intensely personal relationship of parents and children in
the
intimate environs of the home cannot even be imitated in school
surroundings. Schools were not in nature's plan. Children seem to know
that. Hence it takes long years to teach children in school what they
should be able to learn in a matter of months in a natural home
environment.

13. Looking at today's children the parents seem to mean, "Do what I
tell
you but don't do what I do. "But children look at the examples, and
think
themselves justified to do what their elders do.

14. The father of a boy who believed that good character was more
important than good education, was telling the headmaster when meeting
him
on a train that his boy be taught honesty more than book lessons. The
headmaster agreed and said that great emphasis were laid on good
character
but opined that many children came from homes where there was bad
example.

15. Parents who leave everything to the teachers add textbooks should
be
prepared for disappointment. In order to raise your children well, it
will
be worthwhile to remember that the home is the laboratory of living.
The
home is the School of life. The entire day within a home should be a

Discipline Builds Character*

1. Discipline is a much-misunderstood word. To some it suggests the
idea
of punishment. To others discipline conveys the idea of external force,
which can establish outward conformity, but breed inward rebellion. The
word discipline does have these meanings of punishment and force, but
it
means so much more than this.

2. Discipline is the teaching and training of a child so that he
will
gradually assume his responsibilities to God, self and his fellowmen.
This
is the first and most important point in the definition.

3. Discipline means learning and learning demands a teacher who
imparts
knowledge. Parents give the child his first ideas, his first standards
and
his first rules of conduct. There is no need to emphasise the obvious
fact
that parents teach more by what they do than by what they say.

4. Self-discipline is always necessary to build character or to
accomplish anything worthwhile. Except for discipline and self-control,
there is no easy way to great careers or glorious achievements.
Self-conquest comes from inner mastery and self-discipline is power
that
can give a person, contentment, and happiness. The great pianist
Paderewski
teaches us a lesson with this remark "Before I was a master, I was a
slave.

5. "With his free will, man can choose between the two freedoms; the
false, where he is free to do what he likes, and the true, where he is
free
to do what he ought.

6. It is man's fallacy, to believe that the more he has, the happier
he
will be that the fullest enrichment of our lives can come only from
abundant possession.

7. Discipline is one of the necessities of life. Wherever we go we
are
judged by our discipline. A man of discipline is always a man of
honour.
The word "discipline" is derived from the word "disciple", a learner or
follower of a leader or teacher. Discipline means the learning to obey
certain necessary rules of conduct, which are essential in our day,
today
life.

8. In training the children, the discipline should be taught from
their
earliest days. The first lesson, a child has to be taught is obedience
to
all those who are in authority. The next thing to be' taught is, how to
behave towards parents, teachers and superiors. It has to be taught
good
manners and good habits from its youth. Its parents should correct it
when
it does a wrong act. In training a child to be disciplined, one must
give
patient instruction, good example, timely correction and punishment if
necessary.

9. Where there is no discipline or respect for authority anarchy
exists.
Civilised society, as we know it would be impossible without the
sanctions
and customs, which represent the experience and wisdom of the past. An
important part of the child's training is the cultivation of self
discipline based upon the guides for living. Punishment' can be a
constructive factor in this training. Through it the child comes to
understand the value of certain behaviour and the harmful effects of
doing
as he pleases.

10. Constructive punishment takes into account not only the immediate
problem of preventing the recurrence of mistakes, but also the
importance
of establishing a proper attitude toward punishment itself. In addition
to
getting the child to accept punishment for his misdeeds, parents must
get
the child to accept the philosophy behind it. A sound attitude toward
punishment is the basis for discipline of self and a mark of
intellectual
and emotional maturity.

11. The secret of discipline lies in the motive back of it. When the
child is asked to forgo a lawful pleasure or to make some other
personal
sacrifice, he should be given an adequate reason for so doing. The
effort,
which he is called upon to make, should be clearly identified with a
goal
that is worthy of the sacrifice.

12. Everywhere, whether in Defense Services or Human Society, we need
discipline. A regiment or an army without discipline is just like a
horse
without a rider, or a ship without a rudder. Soldiers in the army have
to
learn to act as one man, under the command of an officer, and the
object of
military drill is to make their obedience to orders so perfect that it
will
be automatic. Thus we see; that discipline is important for every man,
of
every age.

13. The younger generation is always out for a "good time".
Discipline,
self-restraint is a forgotten word. In order to be good to them, the
parents lavish on them all that they want only to learn that there is
lack
of obedience and discipline in the children.
14. Man has reached the planets; he has conquered the seas. He has
tamed
the wild beasts but unless he has tamed himself and has disciplined
himself, he will never find true happiness and contentment.

Treat All Your Children Alike*

1. Children are not born thick skinned. They are rather made of
delicate, sensitive skin. A child feels the warmth of love or absence
thereof more readily than a grown-up.

2. Parents sometimes think they are too smart. But children can be
even
smarter to know whether they get equal treatment or not.

3. If one of your children is cleverer than the other, do not slight
the
other or show difference in your attitude. Treat both alike. The
Heavenly
Father lets His sun shine on good and wicked, learn and stupid alike.
You
are the parent of the children. You are expected to treat them alike.

4. Yet many parents, without realising it, show partiality. Parents
who
complain, "My Ray was born with his grandfather's nasty disposition",
are
just building up trouble for themselves. The fact is that at birth a
baby's
disposition is unformed. And whether he'll turn into a mean cuss or a
ray
of sunshine depends a lot on his environment, and that includes mamma
and
papa.

5. Small skills of ordinary children are just as important. So keep
looking until you find a talent, even if you need aptitude tests to
help
you.

6. Remember, a backward child needs a double dose of the praise and
encouragement we all crave. But we must feel that he deserves them.

7. Never label your children "Hilda, the grouch," or "Tim the
roughneck". They may live up to such tags through life.

8. Encourage them to take part in many outside activities. Scouting,
dancing, hobbies and clubs are just as vital to well-rounded
development as
good marks in school.

9. Soft-pedal your little one's failures and encourage him to try
new
interests.

10. Never make comparisons between your children. Saying, "You're so
sloppy and your sister's so neat", creates not only animosity but also
a
false sense of superiority in one and a gnawing sense of inferiority in
the
other.

11. Caution your friends not to applaud one child and neglect to
praise
another. At first, give a child simple tasks at which he can readily
succeed, gradually make them harder.

12. Some children forget the partiality shown by their parents toward
one
child or the other. Any parental favoritism creates the clearest excuse
of
injustice. The grudge they nurse against the parent and the brother or
sister can grow into adulthood. Instead of having love there can be
jealousy and hatred. Brother can be against brother and son against the
father. The parents cannot expect the respect and love from their
less-loved children.

13. Home a compound blend of love, affection, unity, order and
enjoyment.
1£ people love one another, they enjoy being together. Remember, you
get
them measure you give. You reap what you sow.

Teach Children Self ? Control*

1. Some men's heads are as easily blown away as their hats. Little
do
they know, that five minutes rage saps their strength quicker than
eight
hours of work. Temper puts terrific strain on the body. When we are
angry,
it brings physical changes in us. The blood rushes to the major muscles
of
arms and legs and we have greater physical strength. The heart speeds
up.
The digestion is shut down; but the brain is lacking supply of blood
'and
loses its efficiency. That is why when we lose our temper, we lose
much.
"When tempers get frayed and arguments lost, the tongue comes in very
handy." We do and say things, which we would not say if we were calm
and
collected. Anger usually makes us lose our head and our Respect too.

2. Never allow trouble to bother you, if you see ten troubles coming
down the road, you need not be frightened, because, before they get
you,
nine of them will go into the ditch, and the other one will probably be
so
weak by the time it reaches you that you can handle it easily.

3. The important factor in life's circumstances is the attitude you
take
toward it. "Accept your fortune whatever it may be," says Seneca, "if
good,
with humility; if bad, with hope. Change what you can and endure what
you
must."

4. Self-control establishes a medium between the two extremes of no
restraint and complete repression. No person is, truly free as long as
he
is dominated by his own lawless impulses or by the personality of
another.
To be free a person must be able to express his own will, and this
calls
for some degree of self-control.

5. Self-control is one of the most difficult lessons the child has
to
learn. This is particularly true of the small child who lacks the
maturity
of judgment, which comes as a result of long experience and training.

6. Early childhood is a carefree period. There is yet no
consciousness
of responsibility. But as the child grows older more and more is
expected
of him. His responsibility increases. With this in- crease of
responsibility comes a corresponding need for self-control. As this
need is
met, freedom is increased and the child's capacity for growth is
broadened.
The child who runs away from responsibility shows by his action that he
is
still a child emotionally.

7. Temper in the family can be contagious. The children usually
learn or
get it from the father or mother. It is no use telling a child not to
lose
his, temper when the father is losing his shirt.

8. The child watches the attitude and reaction of the parent when he
is
angry or in trouble. He will behave towards others when in trouble
exactly
as his parent have taught him.

9. Tranquil mind cannot be attained just in a moment. Like
character, it
is attained through years of discipline. The young man has to train
himself
every day by meditation and reflection so that when "The world is at
sixes
and sevens; and he needs the peace of Heaven; The peace he will surely
find; If he keeps a tranquil mind".

10. Often the trend of our moods runs in cycles. Study your moods;
know
yourself. Self-understanding is one step towards self-control. Learn to
release your tensions in a healthy way. Anger improves nothing except
the
arch on a cat's back! When anger comes through the front door, wisdom
and
prudence leave by the back door.

11. When you let off your steam on somebody at home, when you hurt
somebody's funny bone, don't let gloom prevail. Dispel it by laughter
and
sunshine.

12. When you are about to blow your, top, don't explode. Don't smash
things in the home or in the office. It won't do you good. Instead, go
and
dig in the garden, scrub the basement, visit a friend. Take a walk by a
bubbling stream or in a garden. Meditate alone in a quiet comer.

13. Knowing what it costs to lose one's temper, the elders ask the
young
to sleep over the problem. When you are in the right you can afford to
keep
your temper, and when you are in the wrong you cannot afford to lose
it.
Remember, the great are sometimes great because they wait five minutes
longer.

Importance of Moral Values*

1. A youngster builds his sense of moral values on the home front.
He is
what his parents make of him, their values passed along to him by
precept
and practice.

2. When a child returns from play or school, if he brings with him
something that does not belong to him his mother becomes aware of it
sooner
or later. She may believe that some tiny plastic toy worth a few paise,
or
a pencil, too trivial a matter to worry about. This is where she sets
her
child on the downward slope to corruption. Stealing has nothing
whatever to
do with material value. This is one factor parents must clearly
understand.
Theft is theft.

3. It was once thought that the main reasons for dishonesty and
corruption were poverty, but these ideas have since been proved false.
In
affluent countries crime is on the increase. Few great civilizations
disintegrated through wars or conquest. They destroyed themselves at
their
peaks of affluency by the onset of moral decay. Rome fell by her own
hands.

4. It is always a mistake to look at yourself through rose-coloured
glasses. We have all heard people say that in a developing country
bribery
and corruption are meritable or that lack of social security or extreme
poverty forces people, to try to make extra money somehow or other.

5. There is all element of truth in these excuses, but they still
remain
excuses and not reasons. Are rich people less dishonest than poor ones?
We
know they are not.
6. Basic moral values are imbibed during child- hood, and if lessons
are
correctly taught, generation will benefit and the country also. It is
use-
less to say, "Do as 1 say, not as I do", for children are imitative of
their parents.

7. Let us face it squarely. In the great majority of cases, it is
not
children who are delinquent but the parents. We fail to bring our
children
up in the vital essentials of all religions, which predicate the
existence
of Supreme Being to whom honour and love are due.
8. Therefore, if our children grow up without bedrock of intrinsic
honour and love for God, it is unlikely that they will give this to
mere
mortals like parents and those placed in authority over them.

9. Now who shows the child the way, 'say to a nightclub, the way to
choose his dress, the way to read what he shouldn't and see things he
needn't? It is the elders.
10. The dress again is a mode where elders are responsible or
irresponsible. The designer is not a teenager. He is an elder, perhaps
in
his middle age if not more. He knows he can bring a moral revolution in
dress.

11. If the elders give something worthwhile to the teenagers they are
doing a duty towards them- selves and towards God. If they bring out
trash
or, give bad example, they certainly pull them down- hill into the mire
and
will reap as they sow.
12. Dutiful respect is a product of training and discipline. It is a
respect without cringing humility or undertones of fear and is given
freely
to those placed in a position of rightful authority.

13. Parents fail to teach their children dutiful respect when they
ignore
elementary disciplining of wayward children at a tender age children
who
are allowed to grow up from babyhood without firm and unfailing
discipline,
are a nuisance to the whole household and visitors.

14. Another kind of parental failure is bad example; encouraging
children
to be rude, domineering and disrespectful by not correcting these
faults;
pandering to their tastes for expensive dress and entertainment; and
worst
of all-condoning in discipline, ignoring, cheating and debunking
authority.

15. The difference between one child and another is often largely a
matter of what the child sees in and hears and learns from his parents.
His
religious response, his sense of honesty, his ability, to play with
other
children and be unselfish toward them, his attitude towards books, his
appreciation of the beautiful, his sense of what is right and what is
wrong, his quick apprehension of the charming and noble, his ready
reaction
to music that is good, his approval of heroism and his rejection of
evil-all he imbibes from his parents.

16. The children who do not respect their God or their teachers do
not
respect their parents either. It's the parent who has failed. It's the
parent who is delinquent.

Teach Them to Be Truthful*

The loveliest ornaments of youth
Are meekness, innocence and truth.

1. Liars are made, not born. H parents look back to the earliest
days of
their children's dawn of reason they will recall that the little child
was
by its nature very truthful. The length of time it took the child to
relate
the story of an incident was exasperating. This was due to its desire
to be
precise. "Later because of impatience of the parent, or the lack of
sympathetic understanding or attention, the child began to realise that
there was not much use in being precise or truthful.

2. The parents also make or mould the characters of their children
by
their example. A child who asks for a nickel for an ice-cream cone is
told
"I don't have a cent in the house". A few minutes later he is sent to
the
store with note for a pack of cigarettes. Somebody is lying and the
child
knows who.

3. If a child finds his parents dishonourable in large things he
easily
becomes dishonourable in small things. He matches the family lies with
his
petty falsehoods. He sees in his parents major dishonesties that he can
imitate with small thefts.

4. Lying is technically defined as speaking deliberately against
one's
mind. It's malice lies in the fact that it involves using a natural end
or
purpose and as such is intrinsically evil and forbidden by the 8th
Commandment. (Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour).

5. Unfortunately, many parents make telling of the truth difficult.
Tell
child about people who made big sacrifices to tell the truth.

6. The sins of the parents are visited on their children. No one can
give what he hasn't got. Your children will never reverence truth
unless
you set them a sterling example in this regard.

7. The 7th Commandment, (Thou shalt not steal) interestingly
explained
with the use of pertinent fairy stories, with morals that show the
value
and importance of honesty, the reading of children's books on the lives
of
the saints-all these will help immeasurably.

8. Good moral training is the most formidable safeguard against all
forms of dishonesty. An honest man is the noblest work of God.

9. We have lived to see dishonesty become the international law or
shall
we call it lawlessness? We are so startled by the vastness of worldwide
dishonour that we forget that it took its rise in the homes and hearts
of
individuals who were dishonest, dishonourable men and women.

10. Liars need good memory. It is truth that keeps you at ease and
gives
you the strength of ten because the heart is pure.

11. And do you know what happens when you lie? Conclusions of a
lie-detector specialist who administered test to over 25,000 employees
and
job seekers say that when you lie, your breathing skips and halts
momentarily. Blood pressure and pulse rises. Body stiffens and the
mouth
gets dry. Blinking of eyes and swallowing increase.

Always Lend a Hand*
Let the world be better, brighter, For your having trod its way;
Scatter seeds of love and gladness, Ere the sun goes down today.

1. A man who is obliging is a rare fellow; a wonderful, admirable
character. When you ask him to do something for you, he does it at once
and
with real gladness. No hesitation no frown; no excuses. You want
something
fixed. He gets up immediately and does the job for you without keeping
you
waiting. You ask him to help you find some- thing. Already he is at
your
side eagerly searching as though it were his own money-purse he had
lost.
"Where the will is ready, the feet are light." He is always willing to
lend
a hand. Why is he so quick to act? Well, the reason is that there is
love
in his heart. "Who feels love in his heart feels a spur in his limbs."

2. From the early age children should be taught to lend a hand to
others
in whatever manner they can. The parent can train, their children to be
charitable when they see a suffering child or beggar boy.

3. The practice of charity advances to small personal gifts, the
giving
of which can hardly begin too early. Children can be taught to give
gifts
on birthdays or feast days.
4. The characteristic of being obliging is latent in an Old Tuscan
proverb, "He gives well, and gives much, who gives 'a smile with his
gift."

5. Sad to say, many of the people among whom we live are not
obliging,
but disobliging; and it is never a pleasure, and rarely any use, to ask
a
favour of a disobliging person.
6. When asked to help another, rather than give the help at once, we
try
to gain time to postpone action.

7. Real help alone will relieve the other's pangs. Help, to be true
help, must be more than a "soothering" process. It must be thorough and
it
must be immediate.

8. It is ill to meet a beggar's request with soft words. We may
imagine
that when we have uttered a promise we have: already done something
helpful. A promise of help is nothing but words until it is fulfilled.
And
how often do we fulfil our promises to the letter?

9. When we promise assistance to one in distress and delay in giving
the
assistance, we render his situation worse rather than better.

10. A willing helper does not wait to be asked. These good folks are
sensitive to the feelings of others. They are mind readers, as it were.
They are at your side as soon as' pain strikes-almost before it
strikes.
"Love", says Kempis, "enlarges all the powers of the soul." These
willing
helpers drive a marvelous understanding from their love of others. Many
of
us have good eyes and see nothing, but men with true love in their
hearts
see everything.

11. If you teach your children to help others by your example, they
in
turn will have the spirit of being helpful. Children usually follow the
foot- steps of their parents and imbibe their example. "If we help one
another, Along the path of life, Each be to each a brother,
12. Through quiet-and through strife, Our hopes will shine the
brighter,
13. Our hearts will be lighter, If we help one another."

14. Do not hold back what you can give NOW. "While the grass grows,
the
steed shouldn't starve." Remember, the best place to find a helping
hand is
at the end of your arm.

The Mother Your Teenager Wants*
Recently, some high school students of a co-educational school were
asked
as to what qualities they thought their mother should have. Here's
what
they felt their ideal mother should be.

1. Strong in character, so that you have a model to follow. Her
qualities worthy of imitation should find expression in her attitude
toward
her vocation as homemaker, a mother and as wife.
2. Home to an ideal mother means not so much a place as people
therein
whom she loves more than anything else or anyone else in the world, and
she
has always enough of this love for the children as well as for the
husband.

3. To be a good mother she needn't have a degree' or diploma. All
she
needs is love. She must love her children and the children must love
her.
4. An ideal mother does not conceal her feelings of her love. When
they
go to school, she kisses them. When they meet her outside she embraces
them. She gives open expression of her love not only when a child is
hurt
but at all times.

5. When there is no love and appreciation at home the teenagers
think"
why should I do this?" No one appreciates. Nobody cares." Out of love
a
mother always understands Children feel free to come to her in their
difficulties or problems.
6. The ideal mother is a good listener too. A daughter feels at
ease, to
confide anything in her mother because she gives her patient ear and
helps
her with her advice.

7. An ideal mother always likes to be near her children. She does
not
leave them in the hands of her servants as far as possible.
8. She never embarrasses her children in public or in the presence
of
friends or younger children. If she has to scold a child, she will do
it in
private and forget about it, and not nag about it.

9. She allows her son or daughter to bring their friends home and
entertains them. By permitting this, she knows whom their children are
moving with.
10. A good mother makes her children feel important. She likes them
to
have their privacy too. She may not open letters or listens to their
telephone conversation. She respects their thing and does not dig in
their
drawers or cupboard.

11. A teenager likes the mother who keeps his secrets and her
promises
that accept the responsibility of her vocation to educate her children
mentally, morally and socially.
12. A teenager likes the mother who teaches him by her example rather
than by her words.

13. As the children grow older, she teaches them to dress modestly,
helps
them choose their clothes and hairstyles.
14. More important than this is the ability of the good mother to
gradually introduce her children to the facts of life without
embarrassment
either on her part or on their part.

15. Their reaction depends largely on her attitude. Never does a good
mother leave the imparting of these essentials to other teenagers or to
books alone even if they are good.
16. The ideal mother teaches her children the value of religion,
food,
clothing money and property love and helpfulness towards brothers and
sisters and all regardless of colour and creed.

17. A good mother is a wise mother. She helps children to make
decisions,
instead of making decisions for them.
18. She shows respect for her own parents, and thus wins respect for
herself from her own children.
19. The children like to be near their mother, as little fledglings
like
to be under the wings of the mother bird. Her absence exasperates them.
They feel lost.
20. It is so lawful to come from school and find an empty house. It
makes
them feel, all alone in the world-and lonesome.

21. With her qualities of understanding appreciation, interest,
helpfulness prudence, consideration and responsibility she adds the
flavour
of tact which enables her to know when to be silent when a disagreement

arises and when to step in, when to forgive and when to punish, when to
insist and when to drop the matter.
22. Children also see her as wife of their father, and her attitude
toward him, in his absence as well as in his presence.

No Substitute for a Father*

1. There is no substitute for a good father. As head of the family,
the
basic unit of society, all fathers vitally affect the destiny of the
community, nation and world.
2. The more the children see a reflection of Fatherhood of God in
the
attitude of their dad the more he will help them to lead purposeful
confident and creative lives.

3. As the breadwinner, a father must go out daily to his work to
earn a
living for his family. But he must make sure that he does not become so
preoccupied with outside interests so as to unwittingly take his wife
and
children for granted. No matter how successful a father may be on the
job
or in business ventures, his life can be re failure if he neglects to
give
his family the time and personal attention they both need and deserve.
4. He should develop such a love for home that he should look
forward to
returning to it each time he goes out.

5. When men abandon the upbringing of their children to their wives
a
loss is suffered by everyone, but perhaps most of all by themselves.
For
what they lose is the possibility of growth in themselves for being
human
which the stimulation of bringing, up one's children gives.
6. Young people measure their father's interest in them in direct
proportion to the amount of time he spends with them. They can quickly
sense whether or not he prefers their company to the evening newspaper,
hobbies, sports, friends-or his own privacy.

7. Children need unlimited affection. They want their dad to share
his
children's accomplishments and defeats. A dad can let his children be
themselves. The temptation is great to force children into moulds of
perfection. Some of us act our unrealized ambitions through our
children.
8. Fathers, who develop the habit of regularly devoting a
defibrillate
portion of their time to their families even at personal sacrifice reap
a
twofold reward. They enrich the lives of their wives and children and
make
their own more complete.

9. Young people often turn to anybody outside their homes with whom
they
can share their experiences, their problems and their aspirations. Why?
Because either they find it hard to get the attention of their fathers
or
mothers or are taken too lightly. They can jump to the conclusion that
parents do not take them seriously enough.
10. Fathers should be approachable, helpful in en- lightening their
children on facts of life. The attitudes of people toward both sexes
depend
to a great extent upon their early relationships with parents.

11. Young people have a sixth sense. They quickly detect whether he
practices what he preaches or whether he holds up high ideals for them
and
does not bother to put them into practice himself.
12. A dad should be as well adjusted, as he wants his children to be.
If
a boy finds home happy and learns to love as he is also loved, he feels
secure and avoids misbehaving. If he can look up to his father as a
model
he is going to be a fine boy. Delinquents generally come from homes of
little understanding, affection, stability or moral fiber.

13. Parenthood isn't a picnic. Dad may work from sun to sun, but as a
father he's never done.
14. One devoted father remarked that he was "awe-struck by the power
and
influence that a father wields over his children in guiding their
thoughts,
hewing their future, shaping their way."

15. Children will thank their father later in life if he resists the
temptation to hand them everything on a platter. "Children need less
protection and smothering love", said a doctor," and more toughening
and
preparation for life."

16. In the rush of daily life and varied interest, it frequently
happens
that a father becomes a comparative stranger to his very own, even
though
he lives under the same roof with them.

17. A father can find many opportunities to strengthen family ties.
For
instance, he can be available for members of the family who want to
chat
with him-to share their experiences, successes and problems.
18. Treating one's children as distinct individuals requires
continuing
effort. A father who understands the importance of doing this put it
well
when he said, " A child is not just a lump of clay to be moulded. He is
more like a delicate seed. As parents, our job is to provide the proper
soil to nurture this seed so it will grow into a sturdy plant."

19. A reasonable amount of order is essential in raising a family.
But
take care not to carry orderliness too far.
20. Children resist over protection. They expect guidance but not
domination, which stifle self-reliance and self-expression.

21. Highlight good qualities while not overlooking defects. Help them
to
be self-reliant and resourceful. Treat them always with the
consideration
th; 1t you expected when you were their age-but always have the courage
to
say "no", when you should. Respect your children's need for privacy and
quiet. Give them a chance to dream dreams to lock their imagination, to
awaken their senses to the wonders of God's creation.

22. By satisfying their curiosity, letting them ask questions and
attempting to solve difficult problems, you can nourish their creative
spark and launch them on a lifelong voyage of discovery.

23. Children look to their father in a special way for spiritual
inspiration and guidance.
24. Impress on them that they can do great good if they endeavour
throughout their lives to bring spiritual values into public and
private
life.

25. Time and patience are required to get children to the point where
they like to do what they ought to do. Nevertheless, in terms of their
intellectual and spiritual development, it is worth whatever efforts
the
father and mother makes.
26. "Almost any man knows how to earn money," Thoreau said hundred
years
ago "but not one in a million knows how to spend it."

27. The primary reason for teenage immorality they say is lack of
parental discipline.
28. The combined effort of both parents is needed to inspire young
people
with reference for the holiness of the body as well as for the sanctity
of
marriage. The serious responsibility of giving adequate sex
instructions
belongs to parents and is one they cannot delegate entirely to others.

29. The training-physical, intellectual and spiritual that young
people
receive in the home determine in no small way their destiny for time
and
eternity.

30. But do more than help them to personal achievement. Train them to
think beyond self and to be come concerned with the common good of all
men.

31. Help them find fulfillment by becoming involved in raising the
standards of government, education, labour management relations,
literature, entertainment and other Vital spheres of influence that
shape
the outlook of countless millions.

Power of the Family*

The power of the family to renew the face of the earth was
hopefully
pointed out by Dr Charles W. Wahl of the University of California in
Los
Angeles. He said, "The world could be transferred in one generation, if
all
parents would practice what we now know about raising children. There
will
be an unlimited future for mankind when this begins to happen.

Millions of other families over the globe have it within their
power
to freshen and revitalise the community, nation and world.

1. God intended the home to be a source of inspiration and strength
for
parents and children alike. It should also be the dynamic center from
which
they continually bring into the mainstream of modern life the human and
spiritual values so essential for the betterment of our day.

2. Fathers and mothers are in a unique position. Others can assist
them,
but nobody can fully replace them. It is a common tendency of parents
to be
so preoccupied in getting their children to "be good" that they neglect
to
challenge and train them to "do good".

3. Young people need parental firmness if they are to become assets
instead of liabilities in today's world. They inwardly yearn for it,
even
in their most rebellious moments. "During this emotional riptide," said
one
expert, "your child wants you to stand like a rock." He wants to
struggle
against you, but he does so with the secret prayer that you will not
yield.
He is not rejecting your values, he is testing them.

4. Enter sympathetically into their study plans, helping them set
realistic goals. Assist them in developing good reading, listening and
viewing habits. Repeatedly point out to them that persons whose love
for
God and people is matched by their knowledge and competence will carry
the
world's greatest unfinished tasks forward.

5. Besides seeing to it that students absorb knowledge, parents
should
also help them acquire the all - important art of sharing or
communicating
what they have learnt.
6. Young people mature as they progress from the "Please help me"
stage
through "I can take care of myself" to "Please let me help you".

7. Other marks of maturity are: awareness of individual
worth...responsibility ...resourcefulness control of emotions. . good
judgment ...understanding. ..consideration.

8. Keep ever aware that it is the marvelous privilege of parents to
receive their offspring from God as infants with immeasurable
potentialities. Then, without delay, you should start the long and
vital
training process that never loses sight of the eventual objective of
making
them adults who will contribute spiritually and materially to mankind.

9. As soon as our children leave our doorsteps, they are catapulted
into
the tensions temptations and cross currents of our modem day.
10. If people do not try to change the world for the better, it
changes
them for the worse. Aloren Eisely stressed this point in his book
"Adventures of the Mind". A future worth contemplating will not be
achieved
solely by flights to the far side of the moon. It will not be found in
space. It will be achieved, if it is achieved at all, only in our
individual hearts.

11. Love of people for the love of God should be such a dominant note
in
the home circle at it would be carried spontaneously into a world that
may
perish for lack of true love.

Vital Ingredient of Life*

Can you name this vital ingredient?
It is highly contagious. It banishes gloom and
discouragement.
Everybody needs it. Wicked men try to kill it. Wise men never hoard
it. It
can't be bought not at any price, yet it is worth the whole world.
And it
is one of the most thoroughly necessary ingredients of all.
The answer in a word is HOPE.

1. Parents should not get discouraged or lose hope if their children
do
not shine in their intelligence at an early age. May be the child will
leap
sky- wards a little later.
2. Many a genius has been labeled as dunces in their early years.
Isaac
Newton and Winston Churchill did not make their mark in the early
schooling. Yet, we know the imprint they have made on the history of
the
world.

3. The man who became the glory of English literature was forced to
leave school at the age of 13 and go to work. His father was a farmer
and
Shakespeare milked cows, sheared sheep and churned butter. Owing to
some
trouble he ran away to London. Within five years of his arrival he was
making good money as an actor. In later years Shakespeare's pen flowed
so
freely that men still doubt his claim to his authorship of plays on
such
different topics as are covered by Julius Caesar, Mac Beth, A Midsummer
Nights Dream, As You Like It, Hamlet, and Romeo And Juliet. It is
difficult
to believe that one whose father, mother and sister could neither read
nor
write and who left school at the age of 13 could produce such wealth of
literary genius as Shakespeare did.
4. In the sphere of military glory, Duke of Wellington failed at
classics and had to leave school, and the founder of the Scout
Movement,
Lord Baden Powell was refused admission to Oxford.

5. If your child does not speak when he should at his age, remember
Einstein who could not say a word until he was four and could not read
until he was eight Picasso could never remember the alphabet in his
primary
school days.
6. Kipling received many poor reports as a schoolboy and only when
his
eyesight was cured that he made his mark.

7. Age has little to do with success. If we probe into history, we
shall
find there have been many poor, backward pupils who didn't fare well in
early days.
8. These and many more examples of children should never make the
parents discouraged. Talents flower late in the soil of many natures.
Here
are some words of comfort from research workers who have looked into
the
histories of some four hundred famous men, each one the most
outstanding
statesman, painter, poet, writer or warrior of his time. Of the group's
greatest achievements, 35 per cent came when the men were between 60
and
70, 23 per cent when they were between 70 and 80 and eight per cent
when
they were more than 80. In other words, men past 60 have done 66
percent of
the world's greatest work.

9. Encourage your child in his studies. Praise him; coax him even if
he
shows little progress. Some grow up in intelligence like Jack's bean
stalk
others may be slow in their mental development. Develop the traits he
likes. He is sure to make his mark in things he likes early in life.
Hope
always for the best.
10. Hope is said to be constant because you always have it when
every-
thing is lost.
"Hope, like the gleaming taper's light, Adorns and cheers our
way;
And still as darker glows the night, Emits a bright ray" -----

The Parent's Prayer*

O Lord, make me a better parent.

v Teach me to understand my children, to listen patiently to what
they
have to say and, to answer all the questions kindly.

v Keep me from interrupting them, talking back to them, and
contradicting them. Make me as courteous to them as I would have them
be to
me.

v Give me the courage to confess my sins against my children and to
ask
them forgiveness, when I know that I have done them a wrong.

v May I not vainly hurt the feelings of my children. Forbid that I
should laugh at their mistakes or resort to shame and ridicule as
punishment.

v Let me not tempt my child to lie and to steal. So guide me hour
by
hour that I may demonstrate by all I say and do that honesty produces
happiness.

v Reduce, I pray, the meanness in me. May I cease to nag; and when
I am
out of sorts, help me to hold my tongue.

v Blind me to the little errors of my children and help me see the
good
things that they do. Give me a ready word for honest praise.

v Help me to grow up with my children, to treat them as would those
of
their own age; but let me not exact of them the judgment and
conventions of
adults. Allow me not to rob them of the opportunity to wait upon
themselves, to think, to choose, and to make decisions.

v Forbid that I should ever punish them for my selfish
satisfaction.
May I grant them all their wishes that are reasonable, and have the
courage
always to withhold a privilege, which I know, will do them harm.

v Make me so fair and just, so considerate and companionable to my
children that they will have a genuine esteem for me. Fit me to be
loved
and imitated.

With all Thy gifts, O great Lord, give me calm, poise, and
self-control.
